The hole in the U shaped bracket to allow for the wires to run through without any problems. Then using a Dremel a hack saw & file cut through I then drilled a single 1/2" hole through the tray and also through the U shaped bracket. There is a U shaped bracket inside the center console that pushes up the tray holder and secures it in place. Then you can remove the two screws at the bottom of the tray holder inside the center console the one that has the closing lid.
